The Castle of Erdut looks more alike mannor or summer villa but two towers at the corners of the building give it the castle look alike. The castle was built in the beginning of the 19th century by the noble family Adamovic from Cepin. Later on it become a property of Cseh family, who during Hapsburg rule were governors of Srijem province.
Erdut is famous for its vineyards and its high quality of wines, in pasticularly Chardonnay, Pinot and Zweigelt. There is huge wine cellar, adjacent to the castle, established in 1730. The cellar if famous for its 75.000 litres wooden barrel which entered in a Guiness book of records.
