"Timanfaya National Park" Canary Islands Things to Do Tip by UK_Man

Canary Islands Things to Do: 239 reviews and 214 photos

On Lanzarotte the Timanfaya National Park is well worth a visit, either by organised coach or in your own hire car. We went in Feb 2001, and it only cost around £8 for two adults and one child to get entry, and that also included a coach tour (with English/German/Spanish taped commentary) around the volcano crater - the only way to see this, by the way.

You can also eat at the restaurant there - a little pricey but not overly so, and your food gets cooked over a vent which funnels heat from deep within the mountain! Cool!

Directions: Right in the centre of the island - you can't miss the wooden signs with the stylised devil on - you'll see this image all over the island.
