Virginia Tech
Okay, a college campus is not a favorite travel destination for most people. Furthermore, I haven't been to the college in years and cannot be sure that it would still be a fun place to visit. However, I have so many great memories of walking around the campus that I have to include it. During the 80's, VPI was a great campus for walking. The drill field is the center of the campus, and in the fall, I could walk around the drill field and look at the trees turning colors. Just west of the drill field is the duck pond. The duck pond was actually two or three ponds when I was there, and all were kinda pretty. I used to love watching the baby ducks and geese in the spring. As a general rule, I like taking walks on college campuses, and I judge a campus aesthetically on whether walking there is fun and pretty. This feeling started at Virginia Tech.
