Fondest memory: I lived for two years in the berg of Corolla at the northern tip of the Outer Banks. It was a great time in my life, I worked for the Currituck County Fire/EMS - Ocean Rescue division. Yeah, the whole Baywatch thing. I moved there sight unseen, a friend of mine is from Corolla & convinced me to come check it out for the summer & I fell in love w/ the area. I would say my favorite spot has to be Ocracoke Island. What a great place! It's so relaxing w/o any of the trappings of a commercialized beach area like you'll find in Kitty Hawk or Kill Devil Hills. The Cape Hatteras National Seashore is spectacularly beautiful. I returned this past year for the first time in about 5 years & I was shocked at the amount the Banks have grown commercially, even little Corolla now has one of those damned Wings stores. Come to think of it now, don't come here. There's nothing to see here. Move right along. I hear Myrtle Beach is nice this time of year.
