"Lost Horse Mine" Mines Tip by ITabatch

Mines, Joshua Tree National Park: 5 reviews and 5 photos

This two mile round trip hike leads to an old mine atop a mountain. There is no shade, which wasn't a problem in the cool January sun, and the hike moves on a slow uphill gain. Once you get up to the mine, there is a short path you can scramble up to reach the top of Lost Horse Mountain. More beautiful vistas, showing Pleasant Valley, Wonderland Rocks, and much more.

Directions: Lost Hose Mine is located 2.4 miles down Keys View Road. Follow the signs to the parking area off of the dirt road. Elevation: 4600' - 5080', with the scramble up elevation at 5313'
othercontact: It takes about 3 hours to get up

Review Helpfulness: 3.5 out of 5 stars
