Visit Lake Como with stops in Como and Bellagio.
The glacial lake in the shape of an upside-down Y is full of picturesque towns, mountains that seem to rise from the water, and gigantic villas. The anchor city of this lake is the city of Como. The best attraction in Como is its duomo, which is worth seeing from both the outside and the inside. Despite all that there is to do in Como, the real reason to come to Lake Como is to explore the lake. There are hydrofoils that can take you to several stops along the lake. One of which is Bellagio, sitting at the end of the peninsula formed by the two branches of the upside-down Y, Bellagio offers great views, good shopping and good food. It is easy to go photo crazy here as there is water and mountains on three sides of you, with some of the tallest mountains rising in the distance. On a good day the white snow capped mountains will contrast perfectly with the blue sky and water that surround them. Another option is to pack a picnic lunch and eat at a small park that is situated at the very tip of the peninsula.

Directions: North of Milan, trains run many times a day between Como and Milan leaving from both Centrale and Garibaldi. Hydrofoils run frequently from Como to Bellagio and other towns.
othercontact: I recommend taking the hydrofoil
