Climb Dunn's River Falls. Essential: Don't forget your water shoes.
There is nothing more refreshing on a hot, humid day than the cool fresh waters of the falls. The land that the parking lot is on is about midway from the sea to the top of the falls so, after paying admittance, you must walk down to the sea where a guide will meet you and offer to carry your camera. Then you get in a line and join hands with the person in front of you and the person behind you and start climbing the large rocks in the falls. Water shoes are necessary because the rocks are slippery. You must watch and feel where you are stepping because there are crevices in between the rocks where a foot could get jammed. I think climbing is a little more difficult when you are holding hands but that way, you have a buddy who you may need to give you a hoist along the way. There is a place to exit about halfway up the falls if you've had enough. An, about two-thirds up the falls, there is a small lagoon where you will be urged by the guides to jump in or fall in backwards. There is another small lagoon at the top of the falls. After you leave the falls, you can go two ways. One way leads you straight back to the parking lot. The other way leads you to an area where local people have set carvings, paintings, and other souvenirs on blankets and tables. Each one will shout to you to buy their merchandise.

Directions: It's a short (15 minutes) cab or bus ride from the cruise port or the town of Ocho Rios.
