Le Caprice, London: 2 reviews and 2 photos

  Nice doorman
by londonbabe

One of London's best known restaurants, the staff always make you feel incredibly welcome. Very different to a lot of more 'in' places who seem to think that you are paying them for the privilege of being ignored.
Apparently it's great for star spotting but I'm hopeless at recognising people.
Alas you will need to book well in advance. For a weekend sitting you may need to ook a couple of months beforehand to get the time you want. However I have just turned up and they've given me a table. You may be offered a seat at the bar - this is OK, but not as comfortable and nowhere near as good for people watching, as you have your back to the restaurant.
The food isn't the best in London, by a long way, but it is reliable and comforting.

Favorite Dish: iced berries with warm white chocolate sauce ..... siiiiigh
Oh and the salmon fishcakes are a classic.

Address: Arlington House, Arlington Street.
Price Comparison: more expensive than average
Directions: Behind the Ritz.
Nearest tube: Green Park
Walk along Piccadilly from the tube, past the Ritz and take the first right. The restaurant is tucked away at the end of the street - you'll see the doorman and maybe a Maserati outside.
