"Louvre Museum" Louvre Tip by Aaron7

Louvre, Paris: 796 reviews and 1,585 photos

The Louvre is one of the most famous as well as the largest museum in the world. It's huge. There is a lot more to it than simply the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo, although the Mona Lisa draws the bulk of the visitors. If you plan to see it all, and not just do the two exhibit tour, it'll be a full day adventure. You're dealing with miles of wall to wall exhibits on four floors after all. I spent a full day going through it, 'x'ing the rooms off the map as I saw the exhibits. It has everything from Egyptian mummies to Napolean III's apartments. (Napolean's apartments was certainly one of my favorites; it puts the Chateau de Versailles to shame) Also of note, Hammurabi's code (the first ever written law from Sumeria) is on hand as well as the crown jewels.
