Unique Qualities: I have a bit of personal pride in this. The Sugar House, a 17th century sugar warehouse and its Victorian frontage, lay crumbling and rotting for years, a real municipal disgrace.
I campaigned for its renovation and as Chair of Bristol's Central Area Planning Committee was delighted to oversee its sale to an independent hotel group which converted it into an elegant hotel and bistro while preserving the priceless buildings.
