"Packing List" Dominican Republic Packing List Tip by scataudo

Dominican Republic What to Pack: 59 reviews and 31 photos

Luggage and bags: Make sure your luggage is locked tightly.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Very hot summer weather - can rain heavily, but I personally didn't see any.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Take anything you can from home toiletery-wise. A small medical kit is also a good idea. If you can, get some salt tablets and take every day to stave off an upset stomach (if you know what I mean), which you will almost certainly encounter. Although sticking to bottled water is a must, but as tableware is washed in local tap water, it can also catch you out.

Photo Equipment: Don't take anything to recharge if you can help it. There isn't enough electricity to go around the whole island, and short blackouts are the norm.

Miscellaneous: Take plenty of mosquito repellent. I'm lucky as I am never bitten (blood mustn't have the right bouquet), but ohers can suffer terribly. As usual, plenty of sunscreen and aftersun.
