You may get there by plane, car or train. Depending on what route you're going you might not get around taking the train through some areas. This also means that you have to put your car on it...and go!
It's absolutely great!
Here you'll see a pic of the railway going the Tauern route. Mallnitz has the highest train station which connects North and South. All Intercity trains stop in Mallnitz. Cars are towed on top of the train from Beockstein to Bad Gastein, which can be reached within 20 Minutes from Mallnitz. After that you may take the car for a spin again.
You may also encounter long tunnels when going by car, since you're passing through the Tauerns or other Alpine mountains on your way.
In Mallnitz you can take a stroll by foot, bicycle, motorcycle or car. Either way, you'll enjoy what nature has so flawlessly created.
Austria is also known for his aggriculture. You will find that cows and horses sometimes run free and are only contained with rosters in the road. You might have to move one or two cows out of your way, when going by car! :)Oh, and don't carry candy in your pockets when petting the horsies! They will tear up your coatpockets, hihihihi. First hand suggestion!
