"Hiking up the Belfry for a..." Belfry Tower - Belfort Tip by Susannad23

Belfry Tower - Belfort, Brugge: 122 reviews and 180 photos

Hiking up the Belfry for a view of the North Sea.
The hike up the 366 stairs (88 meters) may be a little hairy at times, but the view from the top is well worth the trek. We worked up a sweat climbing up, but when we got to the top, the cool wind soothed our aching bodies and we were welcomed by a wonderous view of Brugge and its surrounding cities. There are a couple of places to sit and catch your breath along the way. The draw back is there is only one stairwell. So, you are constantly met by people going in the opposite direction. There is no hand rail at times, only a thick rope to use to balance yourself. If I can do it, so can you!
