Chautara: "Chautara" Madison Restaurant Tip by dainec

Madison Restaurants: 75 reviews and 65 photos

It's a small restaurant and doesn't particularly stand out when you walk by. The interior is light and cozy, with interesting artwork and sculptures. The service varies ... sometimes they are rather slow getting your dish to you, but not always. There is a 'sister' restaurant, Himal Chuli, two doors down, which is more of a carry-out place. Both restaurants have limited outdoor seating during the warm months.

Favorite Dish: Samosas... spicy pastries stuffed with potatoes and chickpeas. Only $2 each as an appetizer, or you can get two as an entree with side dishes for $6. I also love the whole wheat roti, which is served warm from the oven. Yum!
