Martin Home: "Martin Home" New Orleans Hotel Tip by jochan

New Orleans Hotels: 486 reviews and 424 photos

Last time I was there, it broke down to something like $20-$25 per person, per night. Not bad for a nice place in the New Orleans area. [We had three to a room, in two rooms.]

The price for one night's stay was around $60 or $70, for two people.

Unique Qualities: There are four rooms in this house, all decorated differently. The yellow room is light and airy, like a farmhouse; the blue room is more formal, like 'country French', all blue and white.
There is a rich red room the color of wine, which looks sumptuous and luxurious. The fourth room I have not seen.

The landlady/proprietor of this establishment lives in the same building, and provides a good continental breakfast for all her guests. She is a musician (in her living room there is both a piano and a harp, which she plays beautifully). Musicians are especially welcome here. :)

Price Comparison: less expensive than average
Directions: This lovely B&B is on the edge of the Garden District, and within walking distance of the St. Charles Avenue streetcar.
