"The Dempster highway runs from..." Arctic Transportation Tip by Darby2

Arctic Transportation: 37 reviews and 58 photos

The Dempster highway runs from Dawson in the Yukon to Inuvik in Nunavut. The Mackenzie River also serves as a major transportation route through this region. This is a canoe race that I participated in on the Peel River (a tributary of the Mackenzie) at Fort MacPherson. I also encountered a couple of students for Calgary who had cycled all the way to Inuvik.
