The Acropolis. Go early. We were there in the off season and we were there when the gates opened. It was even raining, but even so, there was a sizeable crowd ahead of us. By the time we left, it was absolutely mobbed. If we hadn't gone early we wouldn't have gotten a single picture without at least a dozen other people there.

At the rear of the facility, there is a medium-sized museum that shows you some of the works excavated from the site, and also some of the restorations and history. What struck me most about some of the statues they had there, were the eyes. Even several thousand years old they looked very intelligent, like they could see through you. Sadly though, you aren't allowed to take pictures.

Almost everyone at the Acropolis is a tourist. Almost everyone there will recognize you as a tourist. Do like I did and approach a few people, start some conversations. People will happily engage you in conversation and there is ample opportunity to practice almost any language you can think of.

The picture here is on the approach, expect to do some climbing.
