"The Meteor Crater" Flagstaff Things to Do Tip by dzni

This is an enormous crater caused by a meteor millions of years ago. Maybe it was responsible for the death of the dinosaurs? I have no idea, but I'm sure it's a theory. At any rate, this is a pretty awesome sight, right in the middle of the desert. Alas, this is somehow owned by a private party and not the government, so expect to pay a hefty entrance fee per member in your group!

This place was also used for training purposes for NASA before we landed on the moon because they say the surface here is much like that of the moon.

Directions: Maybe 30 minutes or more east of Flagstaff off I-40
