"There are more places which I..." Ketchikan Things to Do Tip by dzni

Ketchikan Things to Do: 102 reviews and 206 photos

There are more places which I either didn;t visit or for which I don't have pictures. One is the Totem Bight State Historical Park, which is a recreated Indian village with a number of totem poles. I didn't visit this place, as it's a little bit out of town, but I almost wish I had. There's the Southeast Alaska Visitor's Center, which is a modern facility that leads you through all sorts of information on the region and its history. Saxman Totem Park I did not visit, but it supposedly has the world's largest collection of totem poles. Lastly, nearby is Misty Fjords National Monument, which we just did not have enough money or time to visit. Accesible by plane (as far as I know), it has towering (3000 foot) water fjords that were carved out by glaciers, and I believe there still exists a glacier or at least and ice-field here, but every picture I've seen of this are beautiful, and I hope to see it someday.
