Sydney is a big city, so all the cautions you have to take in big cities, you will have to take here too, just watch your stuff.
But the real dangers are: the funnelweb spider, very poisonous, but antivenom is available almost everywhere.
the blue ringed octopuss, no antivenom, so don't let it sting.
At the beaches swim between the flags, the surf and currents can be extremely strong.
And the most dangerous thing is : THE SUN, wear sunscreen as the ozone layer above asutralai is very thin
