"The Continental Hotel in Arad..." Romania Hotel Tip by waynebrian

Romania Hotels: 129 reviews and 164 photos

The Continental Hotel in Arad is a typical communist era high rise hotel with the usual black marble and red velvet throughout. The rooms were mostly clean but the bedding was from the 50s as was almost everything else in the room--including the paint. Still, we'd go back in a minute. The water is brown so don't drink it. As with most hotels in Europe, they don't have shower curtains. Travel agent in lobby was most helpful and kind.
I think we paid about 70 dollars a night...very expensive by Romanian standards.

Unique Qualities: If this hotel were in the States it would have long been out of business. Still, it gives the traveler a sense of travelling back to another era...with all the items of the era still in place.

Address: Along the main street.
Price Comparison: most expensive
Theme: Hotel

Review Helpfulness: 1.5 out of 5 stars
