Favorite thing: Jakarta is situated on Java island, with borderlines; Java Sea and Jakarta Gulf (north), Sunda Strait (west), Bogor and West Java (south and east). This city has a big river called Sungai Ciliwung and several small rivers like Kali Pesanggrahan, Kali Gresik and Kali Cideng. The old harbor is located near Kota, known as Pelabuhan Sunda Kelapa (Pasar Ikan), meanwhile the modern one called Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok. And has three airports; Bandara Kemayoran (old ones), Bandara Halim Perdanakusuma (army) and Bandara Internasional Soekarno-Hatta (domestic and international) As the biggest city in Indonesia, Jakarta divided by 5 regions; Jakarta Pusat (central), Jakarta Timur (east), Jakarta Barat (west), Jakarta Selatan (south), Jakarta Utara (north). Every region has their own uniques, so you can explore them one-by-one for the best results.

Fondest memory: Bring a map of Jakarta everytime you go. Sometimes, many names can make you confuse and lost of direction. Like several places beginning with ?Kebun? (means plantation); Kebun Jeruk (Orange), Kebun Nanas (Pineapple) and Kebun Kacang (Peanuts). Even the names quite closer about fruits, the locations among them are so far away. Kebun Jeruk in south of Jakarta ?-plus another ?Kebun Jeruk Tiga? at Kota, Kebun Nanas in east of Jakarta, meanwhile Kebun Kacang in central of Jakarta. Or the differences between Mangga Besar (situated at Pasar Minggu) and Mangga Dua (situated at Kota). Another example; Duren Tiga (located at south Jakarta) with Duren Sawit (located at east Jakarta). Or word 'Pasar' (Market); Pasar Minggu (Sunday), Pasar Senen (Monday), Pasar Rabu (Wednesday) and Pasar Jumat (Friday) are very far each others.
