Big Ben - at the Palace of Westminster.
The tower is 316 feet high. The name Big Ben applied originally only to the bell but was probably after Sir Benjamin Hall the first Commisioner of Works. The light above the clock remains lit while the Commons is sitting. You can climb by a spiral staircase to the bell tower but are likely to be deafened there at midday!
