"The Palace of Westminster -..." Houses of Parliament - Palace of Westminster Tip by ChrsStrl

The Palace of Westminster - Westminster Hall is all that remains of the orginal 11th Century Palace. The present building which comprises the Houses of Parliament was designed by Sir Charles Barrie after a fire in 1834.
It has the finest hammerbeam roof in the world. The beams terminate in great flying angels. Within the Hall Sir Thomas More and Charles I stood trial and Gladstone, Churchill and twentieth century royals have lain in state.

Address: Westminster tube station.
