"Middle Temple Hall:" Middle Temple Hall & Garden Tip by ChrsStrl

  The Agnus Dei
by ChrsStrl

This is the Agnus Dei, the symbol of Middle Temple. It is above the entrance to Middle Temple Hall, built in the 1560's with one of the finest double hammerbeam roofs in England.

Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night' was first performed here and I saw the recent Globe production performed here on the 400th anniversary of its writing.

A table is made from the hatch cupboard of Sir Francis Drake's ship, 'The Golden Hind'. The Hall is still used as a dining room.

Address: Middle Temple Ln., London EC4Y 9AT
Directions: Nearest Tube, Temple. Between Victoria Embankment & The Strand.
