"Visit the Royal Institution...." London Off The Beaten Path Tip by ChrsStrl

London Off The Beaten Path: 1,702 reviews and 3,054 photos

Visit the Royal Institution. It is in Albemarle Street. It was founded in 1799 and is largely associated with Michael Faraday and the research he did here with Humphrey Davy. Although the current research laboratories are not open to the public there is a small museum in the basement which details the life and work of Faraday. Even for the non-scientist it provides an insight which is clear and the chance to see something as important as this buidling should be taken. Pick up the leaflet 'Faraday's London' which gives information on places associated with his life and other buildings in London which benefited from his work and discoveries!
