"Pendeli Cave church: The..." Greece Off The Beaten Path Tip by Zenobia

Greece Off The Beaten Path: 249 reviews and 282 photos

Pendeli Cave church: The Pendelic marble used to build the Parthenon was quarried from the nearby Pendeli quarry- you can still see the stone path upon which the marbe slabs were dragged, worn smooth from load after load of marble. A little beyond the quarry is a large cave and a tiny carved chapel. Look for the two angelss carved in the stone wall.
