"KYOTO: Golden Pavilion" Kinkaku-ji - Golden Pavilion Tip by dewaele.j

Kinkaku-ji - Golden Pavilion, Kyoto: 86 reviews and 189 photos

Actual name of the temple is Kinkaku-ji. The golden pavilion in the centre of the park is unique, not only because it is covered in a thick layer of gold leaf, but also because it is built in 3 different architectural styles. This 'house' was built somewhere around 1220. The whole temple complex is situated in a very beautifull park.

Address: 1 Kinkaku-ji-cho, Kita-ku, North Kyoto
Directions: Bus 101 or 205 from Kyoto station (about 40’, ¥230) or by Karasuma subway Line to Kitaoji station (15’ ¥260) and then a taxi (10’ ¥1200)
othercontact: It can be quite crowded on beaut
