"Explore the NYC you wanted to see" City Views Tip by DanielF
City Views, New York City: 20 reviews and 24 photos
With its blend of historic sites and vertiginous high-rise buildings, the lower tip of Manhattan is one of the most interesting parts of the city. It has a great personality and will feed your hunger for the stereotyped NYC you were looking for: the hustle and bustle on the streets, the mix of people, the feeling of being in a dense asphalt jungle where verticality and density prevail.
Lower Manhattan is actually considered to be the downtown area in New York: the main business and government area in the city. Wall Street, the City Council, the former World Trade Centre and many other institutions are located here amidst a motley jumble of skyscrapers and other edifices. The particular atmosphere that reigns over the place is always surprising; no matter how familiar it results after seeing its streets so often in movies or the media.
