The Ascelepion, which is an ancient medical centre, of Pergamum is said to have been one of the most influential and one of the earliest medical centres. A man by the name of Galen is said to be the earliest and greatest neurologists. There is a sacred spring and the area is also the home of the narrowest ampitheatre in the world.

Directions: Staying in a town called Bergama is where you stay and you can walk or taxi up to the ruins. Be sure that if you walk to not take any photos of the military base that you will walk around to get there
