"I'm really into history, and..." Frauenkirche - Church of Our Lady Tip by kochamanita

I'm really into history, and before I went to Dresden, I knew the main church had been bombed to rubble in February 1945 in the firebombing. I read an old tourist book lent to me by a Polish friend before I went, so I would know the main places and how to find them. It showed the ruins of the church, and that's what I expected to find. However, to my amazement and delight, they were rebuilding the thing. It's supposed to be done by 2008, and what's more, they're incorporating some of the rubble into the building. Here are pictures...
There're dozens upon dozens trailers around the site full of the rubble, probably figuring out where it will go in the reconstruction.

Address: Neumarkt
Directions: Go all the way past Prager Straße and when you get to the cathedral, bear right past the big painting on the wall, and keep walking and you'll find the construction site.
