In the Palacio de Gobierno in Guadalajara, there is a mural of Father Hidalgo, the father of Mexico's independence, painted by José Clemente Orozco. Father Hidalgo rang the church bells of his little church in Dolores to call his mestizo and indian congregation to revolution against the Spanish on September 15, 1810.

Directions: The Palacio de Gobierno is located on the south side of the Plaza de Liberación.
