Favorite thing: Taking place for one week from the third Friday in August, it commemorates the recapture of the city from the Moors in 1487 and the cities inclusion under the Castillian crown.

The feria during the daytime is centered around the city center. Live bands are set up in the plazas and streets, the people dancing and drinking. Many of the locals wear traditional Spanish dress from the region.

During the night the party continues, but moves to a site just outside the city. Again there is music in every direction, people dancing and many stalls selling tapas, drinks and candy. It also has amusements such as fairgrounds.

Fireworks play a big part in any Spanish celebration, and through the week there will be many displays at various locations.
