"Well if you have time you..." Columbus Off The Beaten Path Tip by SnowAngel

Columbus Off The Beaten Path: 3 reviews and 3 photos

Well if you have time you might want to check out a few of these places... Warm Springs,GA is about 30 minutes from Columbus by way of Warm Springs Rd just off of I-185 or an hour using the scenic route that takes you through FDR National Park. Warm Springs was the site of the train departure that President Roosevelt would take when visiting his home known as the Little White House. Warm Springs is a small town that doesn't look like much when you get there, but it has awesome novelty shops that offer everything from Christmas year round to Thomas Kinkade Pictures. There is also a small courtyard located behind the buildings that allow for live entertainment and small fairs and it opens up to a few more shops off the main street. Another place as mentioned above is the 'Little White House' where you can view photgraphs and other personal items and info about FDR. You will reach this site prior to entering Warm Springs. Also, the home of President Jimmy Carter is about an hours drive from Columbus going south on SR 280. There will be signs directing you.
