Train - it took about an hour to get to Interlaken from Bern.
I walked around Interlaken and Bern. And, took trains into the Alps - used furniculars and gondolas as well. You can jump on and off the jungfrau train. I took the jungfrau train to Kleine Scheidegg then got off and hiked down Lauterbrunnen. And, after seeing Piz Gloria and Gimmelwald, I went back to the train station at Lauterbrunnen and took the train to Interlaken.
