River Float down the Corobici River

This was a very relaxing float down the Corobici River, and I highly recommend it! This is not white-water rafting but instead a lazy float in a 4 person canoe. It included a guide who was incredibly friendly!

We were picked up by a driver from our hotel and drove about 1 hour to the site. We were given life-jackets (hardly needed, but required by the tour) and then got on the boat. Our guide was a native Costa Rican who was studying to become a naturalist. He was extremely proud of his knowledge of the wildlife, and we saw quite a bit of it! We saw crocodiles, a basilisk (water-walking lizard), large iguanas, and tons of birds of all sorts. Our guide had a bird identification sheet and he was quick to point out to us exactly which kind of bird we were seeing.

Towards the middle of the trip, our guide brought out some fruit and drinks from a cooler - vey nice! The entire boat trip took about 1 1/2 hours, and it was a beautiful day!

The picture above is of a small crocodile we found on the shore.
