We went there on an RCI exchange. THe resort we exchanged into is the Morritt's Tortuga Club. Although it isn't the newest or fanciest place around, it was very nice. It was nicely furnished and decorated. We also had an ocean front, first floor room right next to the lobby and patio where the nightly entertainment was held. It's about a 30 minute drive from Georgetown and 7 mile beach, but it was in a rather secluded but nice east end area. I would recommend this resort for someone who doesn't mind being away from the major town of Georgetown. We found the entertainment at the resort was fun, so we didn't miss being so far away from Georgetown.

Unique Qualities: We stayed in a 1 bedroom condo. As you enter the condo, the bedroom was to the left. Straight past the bedroom was the kitchen which opened up into the livingroom. We didn't have a dishwasher, but most everything else we wanted was there. In the livingroom was a hide a bed couch, small entertainment center with tv and stereo and a glass topped round table with 4 wicker chairs. The floors were big tiles, practical for the walk out beach location. The bedroom and livingroom/diningroom were connected through the bathroom. There was no washer and dryers in our room, but I was told you could use the resorts laundry room---but we didn't try that. The new Morritt's Grand next to the Tortuga has all the ammenities to make it a Gold Crown Resort. The Tortuga Club was listed as a resort of internation distinction.

Also on property is a dive shop, as well as 2 pools ( a 3rd one at the Grand), a workout facility, gift shop and mini grocery, and fine dining. There was plenty of daily and nightly activities that we enjoyed greatly---limbo and line dancing, jazz, and blues, stand up comedy, late night disco, karaoke, barside games, prizes, and icecream social.

I would recommend you rent a car if you stay here. It was great being able to go all over the island.
