Luggage and bags: I suggest you not to take too many clothes with. There are so many stores where you can buy cheap garments appropriate for traveling around: Mella Blu, De Bernardi, D&M, Emporio (not Armani) etc. This department stores you can find in the vicinity of the towns, mostly on the state roads.
Be practical, don't spend your many by paying overweight.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Another option to buy cheap clothes are the sales (saldi), starting from the first half of July.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: In case you want to buy designed clothes and not spending too much money, search for "Sorelle Ramonda" department store in Bussolengo (near Lake Garda), Gallarate (near Varese), Alte Checcato (near Vicenza). If you're arriving on the airport of Bergamo there is an outlet shopping centre, right opposite to the airport.
