It is the house where Anne Frank wrote her famous diary 'Het Achterhaus' when hiding from the Nazi's during the war. The museum is set in the actual house, which was actually Anne´s father´s factory. There is also a bookshop adjacent to the house where you can get your own copy of the diary in many different languages.
