Durham Restaurants: 34 reviews and 34 photos

If you like Italian food, you'll definitely survive in Durham! There are plenty of fake Italian accents in the 15 or so pizza/pasta places (not bad for a small town like Durham). The best ones are Pizza Romeo and Emilio's on Elvet Bridge...La Spagghettata and Pizza Express on the Bailey, and Ricardo's near the prison on Hallgarth Street. A new place, Ask, has opened in the new Clayport "entertainment area" or whatever it is they're calling the development by the library/theatre/cinema nowadays...although we're undecided about that one...I liked it, but a friend said it was the worst pizza she'd eaten in years. Still, some people can never be pleased.

Favorite Dish: Most places have happy hour with any pizza or pasta dish for around a fiver...useful for students!

Price Comparison: less expensive than average
Directions: Practically every street in Durham centre has an Italian restaurant. If you haven't booked a table on a Friday or Saturday night, you'll probably end up visiting most of them!
Price: less than US$10
