This is the center of Germany's stock and money market. The Börse was founded by Frankfurt merchants in 1558 to establish some order in their often chaotic dealings, but the present building dates from the 1870s. In the past, the trading on the dealers' floor was hectic. These days, computerized networks and international telephone systems have removed some of the drama, but it is still an exciting scene to watch from the visitors' gallery.

I was in Frankfurt over a weekend and couldn't watch.
