The Qoubba Ba'adiyn , built in 1106 by Ali ben Youssef, is the only remaining example of the Almovahid architecture in Marrakech and the oldest monument in the medina. The Qoubba is probably the ablutions block of the mosque, which is destroyed by the Almohavides. Fortunatily the rectangular Qoubba was saved and rediscovered in 1948 during excavations.
