Camera Obscura, Edinburgh: 23 reviews and 34 photos

I was thrilled of Camera Obscura, which is opened to the public by 1850 and it's on top of Royal Mile.

There I saw an holography, now well spread and well known, for the first time, pinhole photography, old paintings and photographs of Edinburgh but what I liked best was the magical 1850's 'cinema': the light goes down and a specially trained guide operates the system of revolving lenses and mirrors pointed on the town, thanks to which the panorama changes and it's moving.

I remember that the guide, while telling the story of the city's historic past, thanks to a mirror sooo well operated, raised a bus which was passing in that moment: I know it was a trick of the light and the mirror but I found it amazing, maybe I was just younger and inexperienced but was nice surely!!!
