"See street Art" Street Art Tip by bopper

Street Art, Chicago: 9 reviews and 18 photos

Every summer, the Mayor's Office of Special Events of Chicago, sponsors an art event. This year it was 'Home Sweet Home, Chicago' (or something like that). The format required the use of a standardized media... the typical American living room with a sofa (couch) and TV. Last year, it was the COW. Free rein is given to the local artist to be as creative with design, medium(s) and presentation, which allows each piece to be unique! At the Chicago Cultural Center (and other public locations) you can pick up a map that shows you where the art is displayed. What makes these programs so wonderful is that the art is accessible to everyone and becomes a part of the daily life of many. Since I live close to the Loop, I see this art somewhere in the neighborhood everywhere I go. When I run into a new piece, I can exclaim to myself 'oh, haven't seen this one before. - ((insert the appropriate adjective))!'

Directions: This particular example is in front of the Wrigley building, off of Michigan and the River, at the beginning of the magnificent mile. Pick up a map to catch all of the pieces, or just keep your eyes o
