You need a parking reservation to visit (unless you take the bus), but the view alone is worth the short tram trip to The Getty Center, located atop the Santa Monica Mountains. Five two-story pavilions hold the museum's main collections, including paintings by van Gogh, Monet, Renoir and Cezanne, plus drawings by Michelangelo, da Vinci, Raphael and Rembrandt. Small alcoves in each building provide seating areas where you can peruse books about the art on view. Families will appreciate the Family Room, where they can use materials and games related to the exhibits. The museum's gardens are also worth the visit.
