"27 November 2000 - There are..." Dublin Warnings Or Dangers Tip by Wee_Emma

Dublin Warnings and Dangers: 96 reviews and 43 photos

27 November 2000 - There are some really bad strikes on at the moment which are affecting travellers. The trains have been on strike for quite awhile (well, not the trains themselves but the people who drive them) and now it is the taxi drivers. Taxis are not the best way to get around anyway because they charge lots of money. If you don't have exact change, they will tell you that they can't make change and you will end up paying much more than you need to. And worst of all, they are staging go-slow protests at the airport. This means that if you arrive in to Dublin airport, you will have to walk SEVERAL MILES to get a bus to the city or if you hire a car at the airport, you will be stuck in traffice FOR HOURS. My advice is to avoid Dublin completely if you can - fly to Shannon or Belfast and if you really want to see Dublin, take the bus (never drive in Dublin - it is a nightmare!!).
