"For atmosphere, the..." Egypt Restaurant Tip by zuhur

Egypt Restaurants: 197 reviews and 124 photos

For atmosphere, the Indian-Chinese resstaurant in Sheaphard's hotel. Tell the
qanun (zither-player) to give up his attempts at Chinese music & play some the
beautiful Arabic songs he plays so well.

Also mostly for atmostphere - the Felfela downtown. Touristy yet convenient &
not expensive.
The Indian/Chinese restaurant actually combines re-done mashrabiyya (lattice)
work with a lovely fountain. You can converse during dinner.

Felfela's can be noisy, but it has a folksy, slightly hokey country Egyptian
atmostphere.

Favorite Dish: At the Indian/Chinese, go for the Indian dishes.

At Felfela try the shakshouka, and Umm Ali (a dessert) both are uniquely Egyptian.
