London has three main airports. Heathrow, the world's busiest International, Gatwick and Stanstead. Luton Airport in Bedfordshire is close by too. There are good road/rail and underground (subway aka Tube) links. Travel time is about 15 mins (Express Train) or 1h 10 ( tube) from Heathrow, a little longer from Gatwick. (1.5-2 hrs by coach/ bus)

Walking is a good way to see the main sights, but you could get sore feet. The tube (aka subway/underground ) is the best way to get around. Taxi's aren't too expensive (except the occasional disreputable driver) and some drivers will cut you a deal for a a little tour - good if there is say , 4 of you. Note: Only use LICENCED TAXI'S - the licence plate will be clearly displayed on back of the vehicle . The famous red double decker buses are good too.

Your best possible Travel deal is a DAY CARD. After 9.30am these give unlimited travel on bus train and subway(underground). Cards are available in newsagents and many other places as well as stations. Just look for the sign in the shop(store) window.

Important- Do not keep this next to your mobile phone-this can destroy the magnetic information on the card and you will not be able to go through the barriers on the tube automatically.
