"Mosquitos are a pest when you..." Finland Warnings Or Dangers Tip by jarto

Mosquitos are a pest when you leave the cities. We have two types of them:
Hyttynen, a small mosquito that likes moisture and hates the sun. They sting you to suck your blood. The most annoying is their sound though. Especially when you want to sleep. Luckily you can fight these with Off.

Of course we must also have a mosquito for sunny days. They are called paarma. These come in two flavours. One is about as big as a hornet. It bites a piece of your flesh and then flies away to chew on it. On a very silent summer day you can hear all the munching from the forest. The other one is smaller and more silent but it bites harder. I may exaggerate (a bit) but I really hate these guys.
No! Wait! There's one more: Mäkärä. These guys are luckily only in Lapland. They are small but there's lots of them and they bite hard. Luckily I haven't had the pleasure to meet one yet
Did I mention that the bites itch afterwards for days? They do. Especially if you scratch them. So don't scratch the bites but rub some soap on them. I know it sounds weird but it actually helps.
