"Packing List" Egypt Packing List Tip by SGM

Egypt What to Pack: 137 reviews and 84 photos

Luggage and bags: A good backpack is the go in Egypt.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: A good pair of boots or enclosed shoes, and a pair of sandals.
A pair of cheap thongs or slip on shoes is also handy if you can fit them in, for those not so clean showers.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Basic first aid kit, as for drugs - when I got sick I got tablets from a pharmacy in Cairo which worked excellent and were really cheap - it's your call.
Toilet paper is sometimes provided, but usually not, so unless you want to use the water, bring your own.

Photo Equipment: Charging batteries shouldn't be a problem,we stayed in some pretty ***ty little places and every single one of them had a power point, all you need is an adapter.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: If you take a desert trek go with a reputable company. This will prevent getting out in the middle of the desert and then being asked for more money to take you further.

Miscellaneous: A towel is a big and bulky thing to fit in your backpack, so instead of taking one, buy a cheap sarong and use it. They dry really quick, take up no room, can be used as a beach towel, picnic blanket, even a sarong.
The rubber sport towels are crap!!!
